About Sunfresh Farms
Since 1997
Our story
Sunfresh Farms, an Alberta produce wholesale company, began in February 1997, when a small group of farmers set out to market the vegetables they passionately grow to local and surrounding communities. Our field farms produce premium rutabagas, carrots, green cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and other field vegetables, while our greenhouse growers produce high-quality peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, and mini and long English cucumbers.
Most of our growers are local Alberta farms, with some throughout Western Canada — many of them second- and third-generation farmers who take pride in everything they produce and follow top food safety guidelines. Sunfresh Farms has built a strong presence as a supplier to retailers, foodservice, and wholesalers across Western Canada.
What we do
Our warehouse
In 2007 we moved into a brand-new 58,000 square foot facility in Edmonton’s west end — increasing capacity, production, and quality control, and letting us offer value-added products like peeled potatoes, onions, and carrots.
Repack division
We repackage products such as peppers, cucumbers, bananas, oranges, and apples into smaller boxes, bags, and trays to suit our customers’ needs.
Our fleet
Three tractors, four trailers, and four five-ton trucks let us ship produce around the clock to destinations in and around Edmonton and Calgary.
Our mission
Through innovative marketing and distribution, Sunfresh Farms supplies our customers with healthy, delicious fresh fruits and vegetables throughout Western Canada. When our customers succeed, that success drives success for our growers — and above all, it benefits the local community.
The environment
Less waste
We divert organic waste from the landfill to be processed as compost, and recycle all unused cardboard and plastic to an Edmonton facility to be repurposed into new items.
Lower energy
All lighting inside our warehouse has been converted to LED, which produces less heat and uses less energy than conventional fluorescent tubes.

Sunfresh Farms is part of ATV Farms, whose head office is in Holland Landing, Ontario. Together, the ATV Farms family grows, processes, packages, and distributes fresh produce for customers around the world.
